Waiting on Wednesday (12)

October 30, 2013 waiting on wednesday 15

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming books that we are eagerly waiting to read.

This Week:

Don’t You Forget About Me by Kate Karyus Quinn

Release Date: June 10, 2014
Publisher: HarperTeen

Welcome to Gardnerville.

A place where no one gets sick. And no one ever dies.

There’s a price to pay for paradise. Every fourth year, the strange power that fuels the town exacts its payment by infecting teens with deadly urges. In a normal year in Gardnerville, teens might stop talking to their best friends. In a fourth year, they’d kill them.

Four years ago, Skylar’s sister, Piper, was locked away after leading sixteen of her classmates to a watery grave. Since then, Skylar has lived in a numb haze, struggling to forget her past and dull the pain of losing her sister. But the secrets and memories Piper left behind keep taunting Skylar—whispering that the only way to get her sister back is to stop Gardnerville’s murderous cycle once and for all.

Why I’m Waiting
I haven’t read ANOTHER LITTLE PIECE yet but I hear awesome things about that book and Quinn’s writing style. DON’T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME is something like I’ve never read before. A perfect society that creates deadly urges every couple of years? I mean really, how more original can you get? And that cover? I need this book in my life. ASAP. This book just screams to me and I can tell I’m going to love it. If only it would come out sooner!

What are you waiting on this week?

I really don’t read much horror either but the premise of this doesn’t sound too horribly horror to me, so I’m hoping it’ll turn out good!

Yum. That looks delicious. *dashes to Goodreads* I haven’t read Another Little Piece of Me, but I have that marked to-read as well. And that cover is seriously awesome. Just a tiny bit creepy there… 😉

      YOU’RE BACK!!!

Seriously, this is one of those books I’d buy just for the cover alone, without even bothering to read the back. I need to read ALP too. Hey, you should enter my Spooktacular giveaway and see if you could win it 😉

Oh really? I haven’t read it but this book doesn’t really sound anything like ALP. That book sounded more horror than anything. This book kind of seems like a thriller in a sort of dystopian atmosphere. I can’t wait to read it eventually!

Doesn’t this just sound so cool?! There is something about this book that has me so incredibly intrigued. If only it’d come out sooner!

I am having a very hard time getting into ALP. However, this book looks absolutely fascinating. I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes open for it.
