Review Policy

Attention: At this time, I am only taking requests from publishers/publicity firms or authors I have worked with in the past. This is temporary. If you are an author, please check back later! And thank you for considering me to review your work!

Hello there, Authors and Publishers!

I see you’ve come to this page to find out about getting a review, yes? Before you send me an email, please, please, please read this policy carefully.

I am a YA (young adult) book blog. I read any YA book that falls under the following categories:

  • contemporary
  • dystopian
  • science fiction
  • paranormal/supernatural
  • thrillers
  • some (but rarely) fantasy and historical fiction.

I will not accept any adult novels.

In your review request PLEASE include the following:

  • Most important: A link to the Goodreads page or to the Amazon page–or both!
  • Book summary. Can be short and sweet, just tell me a little something about your book to pique my interest 🙂
  • Author links are also greatly appreciated! I love tagging authors when I’m tweeting about a book 🙂

If for some reason, you do not include a link to your book on the interwebz and I cannot find it on Goodreads or Amazon, I have the right to reject your email and review request without notification. I hate to be mean but I ALWAYS cross promote my reviews on Goodreads and Amazon. I can also post my reviews on Barnes & Noble, if you would like. If I can’t find the book on one of those sites, we have a problem and my job as a reviewer becomes a bit pointless. Let me help you!

I accept books in the following forms:

  • Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs)/Galleys
  • Finished copies (paperback or hardback, I’m not picky!)
  • ebook ARCs/Galleys/Finished copies in mobi or pdf format

I have the right to pick and choose books that I accept for review. I also have the right to make exceptions to the rules I listed above. I have the right to decline to review your book for no reason and without notification. I try to email back but I am busy and if you haven’t heard from me within a reasonable time frame, I have declined your request at this time.

What do you get, you may ask? A honest review that is published on The Bookish Daydreamer, Goodreads, Amazon, and tweeted about constantly. If, for whatever reason, I realize that the book is not for me and I cannot finish it, I will not post a review.

Please give me ample time to review your book. I will work with you as best I can in reading and writing a review for you. If you know that you would like the review by a specific date or time frame–say, by the release date–please email me your request at least TWO months ahead of time! I will be more than happy to work your book into my schedule.

If you have requested for me to review an ARC, you can expect the review to be posted no earlier than 30 days before the release and no later than the release date. Usually, I post the reviews 1-5 days before the release date to help generate buzz–and so it is fresh in my followers’ minds!

If you would like to guest post on my blog, be interviewed, hold a giveaway, etc, I would be happy for you to! By all means, I love working with authors! Please just let me know!

If you’re holding a blog tour and would like me to join, email me! I love blog tours!

I think this about sums everything up.

This blog is run by me, and only me, and I do not accept any form of compensation for reviews. If I receive a copy of a book from an author or publisher for review, it is in exchange for an honest review.

If you have reviewed everything mentioned above carefully, and would like me to review your book, guest post, host a giveaway, be interviewed, etc, please feel free to contact me at:

Thank you for considering me to review your book! I look forward to working with you!
